I greet you in the love of Jesus Christ on the joyous occasion of our national celebration of Thanksgiving. This is truly a beautiful national holiday, for it presents us with an opportunity to come together as families and communities in gratitude for the tremendous blessings that God continually bestows upon us each and every day of our lives. Today, we are invited to enter into the same frame of mind as the Psalmist quoted above, for we set this day apart from other days in our national life to express our thanks for those gifts of God for which we are most grateful. Among these gifts include certain inalienable rights that God has given to all human beings: life, liberty, and the freedom of thought, conscience, religion and belief. These are fundamental freedoms that are central to American culture and to our way of life as citizens and residents of the United States of America.

A shambles, Sir Alex Ferguson called it. He was talking about the first half, which he claimed Bolton Wanderers, with the referee's help, turned into a kicking match, but from Manchester United’s point of view he might have been talking about the whole afternoon - an undignified affair summed up by the sight of Ferguson banished to the stands and Edwin van der Sar anxiously wrestling the ball from Lofty the Lion, the Bolton mascot, as the clock ticked down. There were some mitigating factors. Without Nemanja Vidic, their defence had a soft centre that was always likely to be exposed at some point by a Bolton side who, under Gary Megson, threaten to be as uncompromising as they were when Sam Allardyce was the manager at the Reebok Stadium. Without Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, United lacked their usual attacking flair; both of their league defeats so far this season have come when their two outstanding young forwards have been missing through either injury or suspension.

More water is locked into the rocks and magma of Earth's mantle and core than there is sloshing around on the surface. Indeed, the amount of "deep water" inside the Earth is two, or three, or even five times as much as in all the oceans, lakes, rivers, and aquifers. And although geologists and hydrologists have concluded that most of the water on Earth is almost as old as Earth itself - the planet is 4.5 billion years old, the water has been here for at least 3.9 billion years - scientists don't actually agree on where the water came from.

And it's an investment many try once or twice before deciding they can live without it. Although the world of cosmetic medicine has a glamorous, upscale image, the reality is harsher, even with relatively simple treatments such as injections of Botox or filler. Many patients lack the economic and emotional stamina to stick to a schedule of return visits to the doctor's office.
