| Blog: Mismatched
People frequently ask me - or more often tell me - to write about mismatched couples. Namely, good looking girls with average looking men. It seems this anomaly is the source of much consternation for my readers, who want to know why it is so prevalent. Well, I always thought it was quite obvious really... Because good looking men are dickheads. Okay, okay, so that is a sweeping generalisation. But there is some truth in it. The male ego is a tiresome beast at the best of times, never mind when said ego has been inflated and stroked by gaggles of besotted girls. For every woman that realises pin up boys are not worth the effort, there are another dozen ready to take her place and swoon over said male.

Eagles installing new playing surface
The Eagles will have a new playing field for their next home game, Dec. 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Head groundskeeper Tony Leonard recommended after Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins that the Eagles re-sod the entire field. Team officials approved the operation, which began yesterday. It marks the first time the field has received a makeover during the season since Lincoln Financial Field opened in 2003. Including Temple football games, "we had four games there in a 15-day stretch and three in an eight-day stretch," Leonard said yesterday as he oversaw the operation. "We had a window of opportunity to do this and we wanted to provide a good, safe playing field. I made the recommendation after the game." The field was an eyesore before Sunday's game and only got worse as the teams played in rainy conditions.

Yes, we're more than halfway through the fall TV season. So if you're not hooked on some sort of unscripted atrocity by now -- good for you. For the rest of us poor suckers, here's a look at what went down this week. SUNDAY THE AMAZING RACE 12 Note to Ronald Hsu: Telling your daughter she needs to lose weight on national TV will only make her hate you more. Oh, and please don't wear a T-shirt that says "Who's Your Daddy" if you don't know what that means. Indeed, the second leg of the Race wasn't the Hsu family's best, but it was lesbian ministers Kate and Pat who made their way to the finish line all too slowly.
